Fernholz continues to build on sustainability in 2023

Investment projects are proceeding as planned

Meinerzhagen, 30/01/2023 Following a successful 2022, W. u. H. Fernholz GmbH & Co. KG will continue to focus on its ‘Fernholz goes green’ slogan in 2023. Measures include the implementation of a carbon footprint at the new production hall in Schkopau that will set new standards. In addition, waste heat from the cooling system will used to heat the entire building complex. Photovoltaic cells will deliver some of the energy in the final stage of the development. 2022 was ̈a successful financial year for Fernholz in which numerous investment projects and product developments continued on track. There has been a good start to 2023 as well: a new ERP system was successfully ̈rolled out on 2 January 2023. Production at both sites proceeded without any problems despite the extensive reorganization. Fernholz expects the new ERP system to improve the speed, security, transparency and documentation of processes, from the preparation of quotes to product shipments to customers. Fernholz Managing Director Michael Roth was appointed as a Board Member of the SPE-Inspiring Plastics Professionals organization at the start of 2023. ‘We are delighted that a representative of our company has been appointed to the board of this non-profit organization. In our view, it will present another opportunity to continue promoting the topic of thermoforming, even at pan-European level. Thermoforming technology and the underlying production of films are our core competences, so their continued development and support are essential to us’, says Uwe Fernholz, confirming the importance of this appointment. Based in Meinerzhagen and Schkopau, W. u. H. Fernholz GmbH & Co. KG is a manufacturer of films and plastic packaging. The company employs a workforce of around 200 at both locations. It holds numerous certificates that bear witness to its sustainable and innovative products.
