Greater collaborative efficiency thanks to EDI
Two years ago, Fernholz made significant progress in the area of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) by implementing a modern ERP system. EDI enables us to interact directly with our customers and thus offers numerous advantages in our day-to-day routines.
A major benefit of using EDI is the significant increase in efficiency for simple, standard processes. Extremely fast response times and error-free data transfer ensure smooth processes and increase satisfaction on both sides of the supply chain. This applies in particular to the receipt and processing of customer orders (ORDERS), shipping notifications (DESADV) and incoming order confirmations (APERAK). It also ensures that the goods are labelled in accordance with the GS1 standard.

Automating processes reduces manual input, minimises typing errors and allows employees to focus on more complex tasks: This greatly reduces the workload for buyers and suppliers.
Another significant advantage of the new ERP system at Fernholz is the ability to receive and send digital invoice formats such as XRechnung and ZUGFeRD. These formats are essential in today’s digital economy to ensure smooth and legally compliant invoice transactions. Our system also allows for the automated dispatch of shipping documents and invoices, supplemented by certificates for analysis (COA).
