We used the Fachpack in 2019 to launch Sealid as an innovative alternative to standard composite tub lids made of PP-aluminium-PET.
Sealid is thermoformed from PP and is 100 % recyclable and resealable. Doing without an aluminium lid makes the tub more recyclable, as it is no longer necessary to separate the lid from the tub, which has usually been fraught with uncertainty.
There is also no need for an additional PET cover. The lower stacking height ensures greater space efficiency on the shelves.
We have continued to invest in the development of our Sealid thanks to the consistently positive market response. At present, Fernholz is experimenting with a sheet that we developed specifically for Sealid and which we will have finished by an external partner once we are ready.
