Five-figure investment increases silo capacity by 75%

The security of material supply is more important than ever in times of economic uncertainty. After significantly expanding our silo capacity in Meinerzhagen over recent years, we have again considerably increased capacity at our long-distance timber site in Schkopau.

Following completion of the construction work and commissioning of the plant at the end of April, Fernholz was able to increase the already high silo capacities at the film site in Schkopau by another 75%. This investment goes a long way towards improving the reliability of supplies and ensuring that Fernholz is more prepared than ever before for the continuously shifting market challenges. By doing so, we are creating space for a greater variety of material types and qualities and strengthening our resilience. With the expanded silo infrastructure, Fernholz can efficiently cope with unforeseen fluctuations in demand.

Aside from these infrastructural improvements, new technologies have been put in place to enable more precise control and automation of the production process. Innovative software solutions optimize processes and allow us to identify and eliminate bottlenecks at an early stage. Proactive response to change and implementing innovative approaches: at Fernholz, we are and will remain reliable partners in the field of plastic packaging in a mercurial economic world. In total, we have invested a high five-figure sum in the expansion of silo capacity and process technology over recent months.
